LinkForge guide

How sharing works (for now)

LinkForge has no accounts yet. Your page autosaves in this browser, and the public link carries the whole page, compressed, after the # sign. The link never touches a server, and anyone who has it sees that exact version. After you edit, copy the link again. Publishing to a short address comes with accounts.

Keep the link short

Uploaded photos are stored inside the link. One small avatar is fine, but several uploads make a very long link and a dense QR code. Use hosted image URLs (https://…) when you can.

Engraving a QR code

Use the Engrave preset and download the SVG. It is in real millimetres, with every dark module merged into one filled path, so LightBurn and xTool fill it cleanly. Keep modules at 0.5 mm or more. A 25–40 mm code works for a short link. Keep the 4-module quiet zone.

Dark materials

On slate, black anodised aluminium or dark acrylic, the laser turns the surface light. Tick Invert so the light modules are engraved, then scan-test before running a batch.

Error correction

M is a good default. Use H if the code will be scratched, painted over, or have a logo placed on it. Use L when the link is long and the code must stay small.
